Hi! I'm Nico Winkel, data scientist at OmegaLambdaTec where I solve optimization problems for energy grid planning, Industry 4.0 and medical applications. Before, I completed my Ph.D. at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy, as fellow of the International Max Planck Research School for Astronomy and Cosmic Physics. Using the most powerful telescopes available, I studied the formation of supermassive black holes and their coevolution with galaxies. Outside of work you’ll find me outdoors - racing bikes, running trails, or heading into the Alps for a hike or ski tour. Take a look around and say hi if you like!
