Hi, I'm Nico Winkel, currently a postdoc at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Heidelberg, Germany. I work on active galactic nuclei and the connection between supermassive black hole growth and galaxy evolution. Previously, I completed my Ph.D. as fellow of the International Max Planck Research School for Astronomy and Cosmic Physics, with Bernd Husemann and Knud Jahnke. Apart from astronomy, I like discovering nature through cycling, running or hiking, which keep me inspired and grounded. On this page you'll find more about my scientific and personal interests. Feel free to contact me if anything catches your attention.
