About Me

Hi! I'm Nico Winkel, currently a postdoc at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy, in Heidelberg Germany. Previously, I completed my Ph.D. as fellow of the International Max Planck Research School for Astronomy and Cosmic Physics. My research focuses on the formation of supermassive black holes and their coevolution with galaxies, using the most powerful telescopes available. Outside of astronomy, I enjoy spending time in nature through hiking, swimming, and competing in mountain biking and trail running. Feel free to explore the rest of this page to learn more about my interests. If anything catches your attention, don’t hesitate to reach out.
